Colt International was established
in 1985 in Houston, Texas as a jet fuel provider.
Through the years, Colt experienced a roller coaster
of moderate success and financial hardship, changing
ownership twice in the 1990's. On the verge of closing
its doors in 1999, Malcolm Hawkins and Joel Purdom
purchased the company. They believed the company to
have great value.
The first two years were spent developing
a sales plan and putting it into action. With no competitive
advantage in terms of fuel supply and pricing due
to its size, the niche came from the intense desire
to provide the highest level of customer service.
As a compliment to its fuel sales, in late 1999, Colt
entered the flight operations support market, creating
an international presence by adding its satellite
location in Calgary, Alberta. Colt’s single
minded-focus on excellent customer service paid off
as sales doubled in 1999 to $1.5 million, and more
than tripled in 2000 to $4.94 million.
In 2001, Colt
added the flight operations department in Houston,
Texas. With the additional services and increased
sales, Colt reached annual sales of $18.56 million
in 2001 and $28.98 million in 2002.
Subsequent
years brought further innovation. Using ecommerce
technology, Colt not only devised useful resources
to allow clients, as well as vendors, convenient online
access, but also developed a program to reward customers
for their patronage. This entrepreneurial and innovative
spirit resulted in annual sales of $45.21 million
in 2003, $74.1 million in 2004 and $115.3 million
in 2005, as shown in the chart below.

In 2006, Colt launched eFuel® and eTrip®. These proprietary
web-based interfaces enable customers to easily access
and manage their fuel services and all aspects of
international trip planning. Colt continues to grow
and implement new products that will provide a comprehensive
approach in aviation fuel and flight services. Colt
has over 8,400 active aircraft and has partnerships
with over 1,200 FBO’s and refueler’s worldwide. This
will be another great year for the Company with annual
sales expected to top $150 million.

Currently
we operate 2 locations with our Corporate Headquarters
in Houston, Texas and a satellite location in Calgary,
Alberta. There are over 90 employees
